Default Wheel/Tire question. Did a search first I promise.

I tried to find an answer before posting this.
Just purchased. Current car is 92 LX Hatchback. Car has been lowered 1.5" in front 1.0" in rear. It has 5 lug conversion. drums still in rear. Not sure if it matters but added the info.

Currently car has prostars. 15x3.5 frt & 15x8, 4.5bs rear.
I am going to keep this a street car so I am looking at options on keeping the 15x8's on the car and getting two new wheels.

Option 1: Get some 15x7's or 8's for front & keep 8's on rear.
Option 2: Move 15x8's to front (if they fit) and getting some 15x9's or 10's for rear.

I want to put the widest tire on back I can without any major modifications maybe 275's as smallest but maybe 295's or larger if possible. (Need help here)

Also on front I want to get the best handling I can without worrying about rubbing. 50's to short? or to wide and rub?
Also consider this has been lowered so that might affect your comments. I appreciate your help in advance.

considering you are lowered, anything wider than a 275 is going to give you some trouble. As far as putting the 15x8's up front, the backspacing is gonna make them stick out something awful. Put them on and see how far they stick out. If its about 1" too far, get a set of 15x7" wheels with 4.5" BS. If its 2" too far, go 15x7 with a 5.5" BS

also... interested in selling those 3.5"ers?

do you think the 315's are going to stick out or are they going to rub on the inside wheel well?

I have thought of another option. Will new 17x8 take offs such as on link attached from ebay work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-07...mZ280131081953

Has anoyone got a fox body with these installed? And what max size tire can I fit (frt/rear) on the 8" rims without any rubbing or fitmant problems. Not sure of how the back spacing is compared to what will work.
