I've recently seen that they have a trim repair kit for the quarter windows that you aparantly cut the old trim off and glue the new on? Anyone seen or done this? Mine have a few rough spots and cracks in it but I was under the impression you had to buy a new window because the trim from the factory was molded on? Thanks

You can buy new reproduction windows but they dont have 'Mustang' on them. As for the old trim you dont cut the old off, you just clean it up a bit and glue the trim ontop of the old. The trim kits come with adhesive. For almost $60-$80, its cheaper just to sand the old, fill the low spots, then prime and/or paint. And new windows are close to $300-$400 a piece.

I need to fix my trim to as its starting to wear bad on one side. Im just gonna sand fill and paint.

I hear those cover up pieces look bad....stick out. I sanded and painted mine, look a lot better and only cost me a day and about 20 bucks in supplies

you don't cut your old moldings off, they glue on top of them and they do stick out

Use filler primer. It makes the job so much easier and gives a beter finish. Just be sure to sand every coat.
