Would a local Ford dealer be able to tune my sd or would I have to find someone who specializes in tuning?
ORIGINAL: AdderMk2

no, you dont need to.. but you will need to find someone who can tune your SD for you

Never take your car to a dealer. They will **** you over in fees and prices. And most of the people working there probably have no clue about working on a car thats 12+ years old. Not worth it. All they do now is hook new cars up to computers and try to guess at problems. And from what I've seen, tehy have no ****ing clue what tey're talking about half the time. But tey sure te **** charge you an arm and a leg for tehir useless opinions.

I hope your cone filter is in the fender. If it isnt itll suck in hot air from the engine bay. Heat kills horsepower. The air is cooler in the fender.

I will never go to a Ford dealer for service. Buying parts ok, but never for service. I lost count of how many times they tried to fix what wasnt broken and broke something that wasnt. Sad.

You should have seen my intake setup. The air filter was sitting directly over the headers and sucking in some really hot air. I'm talking just a few inches over the headers. Here's what it looked like:

I was finally able to screw around with it and find a slightly better solution. Hopefully sometime soon, I can cut a hole into teh fenderwell and then "box" this filter in so it's sort of isolated from the rest of the engine bay and drawing air from the fenderwell. It's not perfect but it's better than what I had before.
