a vented cap.... probably.... but you still have to find a way to plug the tank

if it were me in my 92 lxI left that piece you pulled out of the tank on top in place and plugged the opening with a piece of vaccum line it has never leaked ever and that was 3 years ago

thats exactly what was i thinking of doing. then just use a small zip tie to ensure the vac cap stays put.

hey adder, you said probably for the cap at the parts store.........where did you have in mind that i should get one if not at the parts store?
and how would i ask for one since the stang didnt have one stock? are all ford caps the same size? ive never had to buy a gas cap before[&:]
