Speedo Is off
I posted this question once before and no one replied but I really needhelp with this becuase I just got pulled over because of it. My speedo is off, from 0-40 the needle wobbles back and fourth and from 40 and above it seems to be 10 over. I had a freind follow behind me to tell me my speed. Could this be the speed sensor or speedo gear? I really need help with this fast before I get another ticket.

RE: Speedo Is off
It does it in all gears if its under 40. But it wobbles bad enough you cant tell how fast you're going under forty(I got pulled over doing 38 in a 25). And I have no Idea if the owner before changed anything.

RE: Speedo Is off
he is talking rear end gear
the speedo is calibrated for the rear end gear by the driven gear on the end of the speedo cable
when you go from stock to say 3.73 gears you will be about 15 mph UNDERregistering, i'd bet there were gears in the car and someone bumped back down
you need to know what rearend gear you have, by jacking up the back, marking the tire and driveshaft and making 1 complete tire rotation
count the ds spins......if it spins 3.5 times you have 3.55 gears just over 4 turns = 4.10's etc
then you need to get the proper driven gear for your application.....and the wobble is from a sticky cable most likely
