ya if that is all you are looking for, stick with a 302, it would save you at least $50

screw that, 351w > 302. use stock crank/rods/block. add some flat top pistons and a decent FLAT TAPPET CAM ( less than 200.00 for cam lifters compared to approx 500-600 for retro-rollers and a cam). decent heads, intake, long tubes, yadda yadda yadda and bingo your at or above where you wanna be

thats way more than i want. this is a DD with lots of stop & go.
i am planning to stop at around 350whp

you can make those numbers with the 302. then you have to remember you would still have to buy the headers and oil pan etc etc. i would just use the extra money in the 302. i would buy the 351 and turn around for more though and make a profit
