Default Mass Air Flow Question

Hey : ) I'm so happy thereis a forum so tight first off....

Here's my question, I'm ready to put on my 24lb injectors but I don't have a MAF sensor that matches... From what I heard what makes the meter sensor calibrated for the bigger injectors is the hole that the little wire sticks through on the housing... I have the exact measurements for this hole for 19lb, 24lb, 30lb, ect. and obviously by the measurements the hole constantly gets bigger with the larger size injectors. Since I have the exact measuremements does anyone think its possible to drill out the hole myself instead of buying a new meter to calibrate for my 24lb'ers? I took the measurements from C&L's sample tubes so I know there exact. I also took measurements from the airflows intake and exit side of the tubes since they taper a little bit.

What are your guys thoughts on this?

my thought is dont do it

i assume ur using a stock maf... yea dude, just upgrade to something else... drilling it isnt going to be precise enough for it to run right.

my guess is that if you do it your way, you will have idle issues at the LEAST, and most likly WOT issues as well... hell i wouldnt be suprised if the car ran like **** under all conditions

drilling out your own = VERY bad idea!

If you need a cheap one, try looking on eBay or in the classifieds section of corral.net. Lost of MAFs can be found there.

And I'll personally send a virus to anyone who suggests that he get one from a Cobra because they had 24# injectors.[8D]

I finally sold my stock 70mm MAF about 2 weeks ago. Sold fairly quickly but then again, it was going for a fair price so I expected it would go fast.

I love my new blow through MAF but I need to tweak the curve a bit. The top shows a long term fuel trim of about 1.02 which is close enough. But I noticed that in the lower voltage range (from idle to just above idle) it's looking at 0.88 - 0.90 which is too far out of range for my liking. I need to lean that out a bit while keeping the curve nice and smoothe... if I can ever get some decent weather to take it out and test it.
