This isn't normal is it??

I went over to a buddy's house last night and we went together for him to look at a fox convertible. I crawled underneath and snapped the pic below. I didn't have my stang with me to crawl under to compare, but isn't there a key piece missing?

the dust sheild is missing. its a piece of sheetmetal that covers over the bottom of the bellhousing., otherwise all sorts of nasty gets up and into the flywheel and tranny

yep he needs to get one or his clutch could go prematurely

Its an automatic so its not really nesseccary but one should be on it. If it was a manual then yes the clutch would be shot in no time.
