Default Smoke at WOT

Smoke at WOT
94 GT 5.0l
less than 1000miles on motor
moly rings
vortech s/c 8lbs
new twisted wedge heads
cometic mls headgaskets
140psi on all cylinders dry test
no smoke on startup or cruising

is this normal at wot? what would be the cause of this?

Ive heard of some TW heads with really loose guide clearance that smoke at WOT. I even saw one stang doing it. But thats all Ive "heard" of.
What color is the smoke??

What color smoke? white, blue or black? If your engine and head gasket is fine and the smoke is not white, then I'd either guess that it's black (running rich at WOT) or it's blue and it's oil. To take it one step further... If it's blue and again, if your engine is fine, then I suspect you may have blown the oil dipstick out under boost and it sprayed some oil onto the headers. That's very common.

its because its what you've heard. ask alot of people these days, your actually supposed to run WOT periodically with new parts. it seats the rings with compression.

i had similar problems on mine... i dont even have my oil dipstick in cuz it doesnt fit in very well... so that could be my problem too

i heard the only reason for that is not to break them in but to see if you have ne problems b4 you push it to hard... so that way u dont cause damn to the engine... i heard if everything is done rite then u really dont need much of a break in time... but i agree if his having smoke problems then dont get on it to much until u get it fix...
