street roll bars for hatch
ive been wondering were I can find site that has a 4 point roll cage for my 1991 hatchback. Ive searched the internet but cant seem to find one that covers all of the rear hatchlike the one in this pic.Im not too fond of the sidebars and the crossbar in the middle of the seat... i figure if i can find a kit that has the pipes goingall the way to the back of thecarwith the sidebars and the crossbar i can just not weld them in place since itsmainly a street car. I dontwant the roof caving in, in case of aroll-over especially for me since im 6'3". What do you all think? Thank for your advice and help.

Are my questions too stupid or what? I just want to know, I dont know squat about cages or roll over bars, I just need someone to give me some "positive" advice not like other posts where people get out of hand and start insulting others. I know someone had to think of something when they read this post...thanks again.

RE: street roll bars for hatch
i was looking for a 4 point roll cage for my hatch a while ago...people told me to get a 6 or 8 point if you plan on making a lot of power and i think you need atleast a 6 point cage at the track when u get into the 11's
i am going to get a 4 point cage in the future because i dont think my car will be in the 11's any time soon...
some sites that have 4 pt cages are http://www.wolferacecraft.com/default.aspx
www.jegs.com sells a cheaper cage that is made by jegster
www.sumitracing.com sells cages made by competition engineering
i hope this helps

You can also try the 4pt from Kirk Racing ...Steeda sells it (or used to). The bars come down to the rearexactly like that with no cross bar, all bolt in.
Edit: This isn't all the way to the rear bumper ....about a 8-12" forward of the back interior panel and it attaches to the frame rail toward the front side of the gas tank. Your best mounting points will be closer to the wheel wells though.

I don't agree with running the bars all the way to the rear bumper on a street car.
In the event of an accident you will have no crush zone.
Rear bars should run just behind the rear axle.
I hope you take this as a positive response because it's all I got.
This forum will either get you 3 pages of answers that were just asked the day before or nothing at all.
Imagine how many LX coupe owners we have here. I could not get this thread answered by any coupe owners.
