302 mtor swap
Kind of a weird question, my boat has a carborated 302 and it needs a neew motor. Im trying to figure out which 302's mount the same. Are the motor mounts on a 1990 302 the same as the mounts on a 1985 302? thanks

RE: 302 mtor swap
the mounts are all the same... but you should verify the rotation of your engine before you do anything. Some marine motors spin opposite of some car engines.
you could also go with a 351w out of a truck to get slightly more OOMPH out of your boat. You would only need a different lower intake

RE: 302 mtor swap
and you may run into troubles with the exhaust manifolds if you went with a 351, i dont know how much flexability is designed into the system (are the logs connected to rubber pipes or what?)
but yeah as long as your rotation is standard you'll be fine with the motor you specified. you may want to double check that they are both 50oz balancers/flywheels - they *should* both be 50oz but they did weird stuff in boats so you never know if a couple year old (but still new) motor was installed in 1985
