There are a few things, bumped timing mentioned, and make sure your engine is in good tune... Like checking the voltage on your TPS sensor...Couldn't imagine how much little things like that make a difference.. Also there is a little trick you can do with your egr plate, where do you live? If you live in a warm state you can reroute your coolant to not goto your egr plate. This way the air comming into your engine isn't heated up when your motor gets hot, Cooler air more power:P

+ 1 A car needs to be maintained well before spending a lot on performance. Basic stuff you probably know: Clean MAF wire, Clean T.B, clean fuel filter, fresh cap& rotor, plugs, wires ( I used Ford Racing 9mm). Underinflated tires slow you down. And as mention aK&N filter with the silencer removed(rubber boot on end of air filter box) is worth a hand full of HP. About $30-$40 for the K&N.
