90 guage cluster in an 89 non air bag???
can i swap a guage cluster out of a 90 gt with a 140 speedo into my 89 convert does it make a difference if the 90 with the 140 speedo will work on my 89 ?????

The gauge itself should swap out fine.While the clusters are shaped differently, the gauges are the same. I think the only difference is the rubber gasket that goes around the spin shaft on the back. But that's no biggie.

Wont work. the wires go to different things in the speedometer cluster. None of your guages will work when you hook a 90 and newer cluster to an 87-89. You have to get a 89 cluster. Some shops do recalibrate speedometers, you just have to see if there is one near you.

I've done it, it wasn't fun and I won't do it again. Finding accurate wiring diagrams is not easy. There are 5-6 wires that need to be unpinned from their plugs and repinned/lengthened into the other. Even being extremely **** about it there were still small things that didn't work due to the different nature of the wiring layout. I would buy a cluster for a 1989 without a second thought.
