Default timing chain

has anyone replaced their timing chain for a gear drive for timing? i saw this in summit mag and its pretty cheap and is says its more accurate. does anyone have one or any information on them reviews or whatever. i just want to see what these things are all about.

they are noisey (even the quiet ones). i have one that came out of my essploded 302 i'll sell ya for like 50 bucks if you want it, but personally i would just run a decent cloyes timing chain.

Had a set in my old motor it's not the whine that get noisy it's that the gears "float" and rattle on the T-cover and then the block....sounds like a rocker gone bad.........

2 Chevelle friends of mine are removing theirs... One guy blames his for the loss of his motor (couldn't hear the bad noises over the whine). The other is just annoyed by the sound and doesn't want the parasitic loss generated by the friction anymore.

The BB Chevy sets I've been around don't seem to rattle though.. That part might be a Ford exclusive.

Personally, a quality timing chain is good enough for me. Spend the extra money on something else.
