What's this for?
Under the carpet on the drivers side up against the rocker is a fairly thick grey wire running outfrom behind the kick panel and disappearing under the rear seat. Anybody know what this is for?

The usual wiring along the rocker are speaker wires, rear lights and fuel pump wiring.
Pop the kick panel off and trace the wire. Do the same for the back seat. Push it down and back then lift up.
