Does this seem right? Temp question
I put a temp gauge in my car last year. The the probe bung was a 3/8 pipe and all the holes in my intake were 1/4, so last year to get by I spliced it into my heater line and my temp was always around 190*. So while I was porting my intake I tapped the hole on the driverside back hole open to a 3/8 so I could put the probe in correctlyand ever since my gauge always read low. I figure if it is in coolant, it should be fine right? My gauge on my dash has always read the same. Is my dash gauge normal to everbody elses? That is where is always runs at...I just wonder if my cheapo gauge has gone bad.
Here is the mechanical gauge at the same time
BTW, where do you have your temp probe put in for you mechanical temp gauges?

First pic...
I have a 180 and a 3-row rad. My temp is at the same place on that gauge. IF it does go any higher its barely at the top of the A.
Second pic...
190 isnt nothing to worry about. Normal operating temp is about 210. Youre safe at 190.
