no compression
well heres the short version, advanced timing, pinged, back it dow, thought i did, gun has advancement dial on it and was turned up, car ran real bad, shakes and runs like total crap and i hear air being pushed somewhere that doesnt seem normal. turned timing way down and still runs like crap.i did a compression check on all cylinders all but one read right at 180. the cyl. next to cyl. #1 read no pressure. i put my finger on the hole and could feel air moving in and out, but there was more air on cyl. #1 anyways i took the vc off and all was normal, we put oil ontop the cyl. via spark plug hole to see if compression would change, it didnt. so can anyone help me?

RE: no compression
Dang, that sucks. You either burnt a hole in the piston, or if they're cast(hypereutectic especially) it prolly fractured when it detonated. BTW, those dial advance guns don't work worth a crap with MSD boxes, they can't read the ignition signal correctly

RE: no compression
the ignition is all stock, and that gun goes to like 60, i kno it wasnt all the way up, but it sounds like i may be screwed anyways. i reved it up listening to the engine and i heard a loud thump once, figured it detonated, but i figured the engine would be ok, guess i was wrong. i have SRP pistons, im not sure if they are forged

RE: no compression
dude you would think you woulda heard it pinging BADLY if it got to the point where you nuked a piston
somehow i cant see that being thet problem *fingers crossed for your sake*

RE: no compression
same thing i figure...but if its the ring...out comes engine...if its valve or head gasket, get head/valve worked or change gasket, no big deal. im learning so im not too pissy but i get agrivated when i cant drive it.
