Well, for all of those that have been wondering how long my stock 5.0 block could hold more than 800 HP at the crank, it seems just over 2 years maybe the answer.
I have not torn it down yet but it has all the classic symptoms, loss of power, running rough, water leaking from under the intake, and low to 0 oil pressure.
Maybe at least, all of my internals and heads are okay since it is still running. Now I might just move all of that over to a real block and turn it up to see what this combo could really do.
Even if it is broke, I have gotten a lot of use from the stock block. Over the last 2 years, this block has provided more than 250 power passes either on the track or the dyno. It has powered my Mustang to many 6.3 @110 and ~10 sec @132 passes. It has provided many shows at the dyno as on lookers watched it's progress from 500 RWHP to almost 700 RWHP the day it gave up.
All in all, I should not be able to complain about the service this block gave me.
I will update this post later when I start the tear down.

heres a early (C8, supposed to be stonger) block that had approx 400-425 @ flywheel

I know some give up earlier than others. Who would have thunk mine would have lasted 2 years at the power it was making. Recenlty I also found my tach was way out of cal and I had been turning it 7300 RPMs!

True, knew it would happen sooner or later, you just always hope it will be later.

I was always surprised also, but enjoyed it while it lasted.
Not sure what I will build as a replacement. Might be kind of hard to go with a different combo when this one was so strong.
Some o f the local guys would like me to build the same combo but with a turbo instead and really turn the boost up.

Damn atleast you got 2 years out of it, 800 horse is just a little too much for a stock block
