while the idea of a big block in a fox is great, look at the hp numbers of that motor. 500hp/tq isnt anything special. a small block could do that. my 331 will make more then that

thats the whole key, i mean 500 hp out of that big block is not beating the crap out of it like it is with a small block. it will hold up to that 500 alot better, and have the potential to make WAY more than you could with any small block.

do the same thing to a big block and have more power.

you cant win that arguement dude. 4.360 bore is stock for a 460 IIRC, cant do that with a dart small block. the block is capable of supporting a much longer stroke crank than a small block. larger displacement will ALWAYS equal more power potential, not to mention the inherent port design of the big blocks are way better than small blocks, so a set of killer BB heads are gonna flow much better than a set of killer SB heads.

dont get me wrong, i love small block fords - especially the 351's but there becomes a point where stepping into a big block is best.
plus a big block under the hood of a fox is just sexy as hell anyways

we are talking street car tho. who runs a 800ci motor in a street car. for the hp hes making im simply saying it would have been cheaper and lighter to do it with a SB.

honestly, why not? if i had the money for the swap and the stroker kit i'd do it, i mean - you could have a low compression naturally aspirated motor that would run 87 octane, built with a very streetable cam for good idle quality, and still make GOBS and GOBS of power.
