I pulled the tank b4 I started the car and emptied the old gas, about 6 gallons, and replaced the fuel filter as well. As far as a burnt valve or something internal, after the slight hasitation it pulls like crazy. Lots of power. And cjs pony parts is like heaven for a mustang owner. The show was great. There are pics on recent threads. I am in NE PA.

RE: What causes this?
Yeah, the car was in a field over grown with weeds growing into the car. Bees nests up the ***, and to top it off. Its a t-top and the drivers side top was stolen letting the weather in. The seats were stolen the radiator was stolen the wheels were stolen. I figured it would become a parts car after sitting out for so long, butonce I got it home and on the lift I found a car that was in really great condition. I've put a minimal amount of $ in it to this point and aside from the 3rd gear trouble its looking good.

RE: What causes this?
I have the same exact problem with my 88 GT. I pull mine out of the woods too. I did everything mentioned in this post to fix the problem. No fix. However, recently I tested my TPS and found it bad. I havent got the chance to replace it yet, so I dont know if that'll fix my problem or not, but there's something you might want to look at.
