overhauling my suspension...Woohoo!!

Well... I finally got all my parts in today. I've got my 'stang up on stands and ready to be torn-apart. I've done suspension work before. But I've never installed poly-bushings before. I got a feeling they're going to be a pain in the arse. Anybody here changed'em out? So they can give me some tips.
I'll try to take alot of pics. If I figure out how to write up a tech article. I try to. But I got alot of work ahead of me.... So.... off to the garage I go.

Auto Zone has a loaner tool program. You pay a deposit to borrow tool and they refund youwhen you bring it back. The right tools will make any job alot easier.

man that's a lot of parts! i never changed just the bushings in any of my control arms, they came with them installed. i did do the trans mount and crossmember bushings with poly and they were cake. must be nice to not have your mustang as your daily driver, AND have a garage to work in...who's got it better than you?

I got every tool I need in my garage except I think I'm going to need a press to install my control arm bushings. I'll just have to make one when I need it.
Yeah.. it's alot of parts. poly-bushings(the whole car!), caster/camber plate, struts, shocks, lowering springs, new hood pins. And if I get the chance I'm going to go junkyard shopping and get my axles and brake parts to swap out to a 5-lug.
The pictures make the car look better... especially in the garage. Previous owner was doing a burn-out and lost it. Tapped a ditch with the bumper on the passengers front(lightly), and it spun around and slid backwards against a 4x4 fence post. So she's got a good sized dent behind the drivers door , and the door. The owner before him swapped out the original 302 for an older one(so now I don't have a dipstick). I bought her and I'm going to bring her back for the dead.(hopefully) It runs:D... Just not that great. I'm starting with the suspension, then moving on to the interior, and then the body, and finally the powertrain. That order will change if the motor craps out on me.
Oh.. yeah. It'd be nicer to have a garage that doesn't have my other project '73 MACH 1 in the way, and every time it rains I get 4inches of water in the side that my mustang is on[:@]. But it is way much better than no garage.

you can use a big C-Clamp as a press.
if you dont mind destroying 1 large socket, you can grind out some slits in the socket so that you can slide it over the handle of the clamp so you can use a gun on it. works nicely.
