i would say all the main bolt ons and a good shot of NOS and sticky tires would take a cobra, also 4:10's

A guy I work with has an 89 that will, of course it's gutted built to the nuts 306. The torque converter stalling at 4000 should give you an idea of what kind of motor it's built up to be...

Does that mean that the 5.0's suck? From what I've read the 03 cobra is an excellent car and the engine is one of the best but I mean....theres many variables that come into play when asking that question, specially if its not specific.

Under same conditions or engine to engine the cobra would easily.

But I mean damn, I see 5.0's that make 6 sec 1/4's, I've yet to see that from a cobra anywhere . I think it comes down to what the person wants to do with the car, basically you could say the 5.0 is the underdog, but time after time the underdog has beaten the top dog =) 'Cause this post is such a downer LOL, thats like saying that we don't have a prayer if we were to ever race one, its basically being punked right out of the box!

Cobra's are sweet ( I could of bought one for about 10k =) 03 cobra, white, manual shift, black leather interior from the same guy), but I think the 5.0 has more old school heart and IS still a REAL muscle car....

Suspension, tires, and a healthy dose of juice and you should be able to. Me and a buddy of mine both went to the track for the first time this past Sunday. He has a 03 Cobra with nothing but a Magnaflow exhaust. His first pass ever, he went 8.79 at 89mph. Those things pack a serious top end charge! With some more practice and more ideal conditions, he should be able to pull off a 8.3 no problem.
