Default Question about the Guage Cluster

Ok so I was driving down to CJ's Pony Parts for the car show and while I was driving down 78 I hit a crater in the road and my volt guage and fuel guage stopped working and have not worked since. All of the other lights work in the dash fine. I had a dash out of a 90 but the harness is out of a 89 and the wiring is all different i guess because nothing worked. My question is, what would cause the guages to stop working? Does that little chip have anything to do with it? thanks in advance for any help!!

first check fuses, probably not it since others work but it sounds like the harness in the back probably had a broken tab and slightly popped out

I checked the connections and they are all good stuff but nothing is wiggling around. Is there a difference between 87-89 and 90-93 clusters?
