I have been having problems with my second gear. Sometimes when I shift to second it pops out of gear. It does the same thing downshifting. I think I may have to readjust my shifter throw but what does this mean?

Mine was doing that with everything stock.I didn't pay to much mind to it till it shattered 2nd gear into peices.I used to go from 1st to 3rd till I tried 2nd one day and it just about locked the car up.I felt a big clunk then heard peice flopping in the trans.

Trans was very abused and rebuilt 3 times before I got it.It was just its time to let go i guess.

Yeah that would be no fun... I would hate if that happened to me.. Did you just rebuild the tranny or buy a new one?

I bought another one.I opened the old one and found to many peices in the bottom.I bought one for 300.00 used.

if its a shifter problem it should do it in 2nd, 4th, and Reverse. Does you have an aftermarket shifter with adjustable stops? If you have a stock shifter it sounds like u got internal tranny problems. Adjust the stops if you have them. Good Luck. If you dont, I would suggest gettin a shifter with adjustble stops so you can jerk the hell out of it and not worry about it as much.

try adjusting the rear stop and see what happens
