Default Anti noise shims

I used the EBC Green Stuff brake pads. They did not come with new shims and my old ones are not re-usable. EBC's web site has no phone numbers and I did email the company about the shims. Are these necessary?

I think they are, have you checked you local auto store for a brake hardware kit, you may find everything in that kit that your looking for.

no problem, are you talking about the backing plate on the pads. They could be already shimmed from the factory. Or is it a different piece your needing, like the anti vibration clip?

EBC's website calls them anit-noise shims, but they are the shim that fits between the brake pad and caliper on the ends of the pads. Its looks like the pad slides perpendicular to the shim. For some reason, the ones I removed are torn and I dont want to re-use them.

can you not get them thru ebcs website, If you can get them there, I would. They may match the brake pad better than other shims.

I sent them an email, they dont have phone numbers listed on the site. They also say that items addressed in the FAQ will not be replied to. The shims are addressed and is stated, "if not supplied, EBC will ship at no cost". So I am waiting to hear back. I just didnt know if they were required.
