...in my local 5.0 specialist's shop. Should I buy it? What's a fair price for it? Will I notice any performance gain (mods are in my sig)? Thanks.

I do not think there is any difference between one that actually came off of a cobra and the cobra intake they sell. I think you would be better off buying an edelbrock or holley. I think there is a like a 20 HP gain over stock with a new intake.

Ford racing claims 24 hp close enough but some of the edelbrocks like the rpm II claim up to 37 hp but that's if you have a matched combo ... that'd drown out a stock motor. if you could steal the intake for a really cheap price like 200 to 250 it may be worth it!! but if they want premium save your pennies and buy a better one that'll give you more bang for the buck.

yea i imagine the new ones flow the same there just mass produced lke everything else in china so more mistakes do turn up, the original and new ones were all prolly cast by computers so its prolly the same just cheapeer

Your in for a disappointment. First off they say 20 horse gain but it depends on mods. If everything is stock probably 7 horse or even less. If you have heads, cam, exhaust,throttle body and other bolt ons with a stock intake you would proably get 20 horses going to the Cobra. Its still a niece piece, I used to have one. If you can get for $200 or less thats cool.

Thanks everyone. I thought 20 horse was a bit steep for a stock car. I may pick it up, or I may just put that money toward a full exhaust. Not sure yet. Thanks again.
