Default Help with 1990 5.0 door seal leak

Hello Mustang owners,

I have a problem i have been dealing with and cannot find an answer to so maybe you can help. I have a 1990 fox body 5.0 and i recently replaced the right and left side door seal because it was leaking and was torn. Now that it has been replaced it still leaks maybe even more than before, and i am about ready to just pay to have it done before damage to the interior sets in. My question to you guys is one has anybody else ever expirenced this same issue? Two is there a special method i didnt follow when installing the new parts that may have caused this? And finally could this problem have been avoided by maybe buying OEM parts rather than non-OEM parts?

run a garden hose over the roof of the car and look for the leaks make sure the top of the window frame isn't bent out if so grab it and bend it back in a little I did that to mine now all is good I bought my seals from 50resto.com they seemed to work good. just don"t go down to napa and get what apeared to be the same size[:'(]

O.K

1. Probably aftermarket seal, not as good as factory.

2. Its best to put a dollar bill on the seal and close the door. It should have a good resistance. If not open the door with the window down and grab bottom of window frame and top and bend in.

3. Its not on common for the striker to be worn and not hold door tightly close, also check hinge bushings, even though it won't cause a leak.

4. Could have a leak between door glass and frame.
