Default Mass air problems

I just installed mass air onto my 88 gt. It also has afr 185 heads and b-303 cam. It can idle now but only after it is run at about 2500 rpm for a while. Is this because i didnt agaist the timing? To 14 degress. Has any one else experienced similar problems. I need help!

what size maf did you get? you should set your timing at about 12 degrees unless you plan on runnin premium fuel all the time then you can go 13 or 14 you just want to avoid pinging and or detonation. you will probably want to reset your idle and tps after you switched over to maf that may be your prob too.
