where to begin
HI, ive bought a 1990 mustang GT V8,
Im looking to put money into it and upgrading. Besides oil change and other fluid flushes and stuff, what should be my first thing to do to get more HP. Cold Air Intake? my skills with cars are ...oil change, and air filter change, as u can tell i am new to cars, i need instructions on this so any videos , pics, anything would bevery helpful

RE: where to begin
Do you want power gain or performance gain? I won't buy a CAI. I went mid-11s with a stock shortblock, E7s and a stock airbox w/ K&N panel filter.
If you want a cheap power gain, exhaust or a used intake. If you want a performance gain, gears then exhaust or a used intake.

Get a compression check before any engine mods. No sense in modding a possibly worn out motor.
An AOD has different gearing internally compared to a manual so a good rear gear helps a lot. Id go with a 3.73 or 4.10, dont forget the correct speedo gear. I have an AOD with 3.73 and works well. With an AOD youre better off building that up first before adding more power. I would anyway. Shift kit, trans cooler, and new convertor. Gears, exhaust and WELD-IN sub connectors that also mount to the seat bolts.
Youll be driving faster im sure so better brakes are a wise investment. You want more power but youll need better brakes than stock cuz well, stock brakes suck. Get slotted rotors atleast. I felt a big difference in braking with them. Its not always about simply adding power. Everything works together in some way.

And welcome to our addiction. Or is that illness? I forget.
