GT-500 engine into SN95?????
Hi everyone,
I dont know if this has been posted before or not but I am curious. Is it possible to swap in a Shelby GT-500 engine into a 1995 mustang GT?????
I well aware of the price of the engine, but I just need to know if it can be done or not without any major changes to the chassis itself. If it can be done, what other components may be needed in order to perform the installation?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated!

yes www.modularfox.xom is a great site for modular type swaps. i was there for a while inquring info on a 32v cobra swap, and after looking into all the $$ i need for the engine i just figured the 351w swap would be better. but its up to you, and a quite unique swap for sure.

5.0 Mustang and Super Fords talked about doing a Gt-500 motor in a fox mustang. I think its called the Fox 500 project. I don't believe Maximum Motorsports makes a k-member for this swap. I know that the 05 and up Mustangs have a different motor mount system. It would just take a little fabrication. anything can be done if you have the skills or the money to pay someone else. You would also need the computer and engine harness for the motor.Plan on getting rid of your brake booster and install a hydroboost setup or you could go with manual brakes. Not sure if you would have header issues or not. Hope this helps.

Im talking about swaping in the 5.4L DOHC supercharged V8 that is standard equipment on the Shelby GT-500 mustangs. I know the engine runs at about 15k, so it is very expensive, but modular engines are what is kickin some rear ends these days. Its too early to tell whether I'll do this swap or not, but I do plan to do a swap on my 95 GT. Right now she is a daily driver, but I plan to purchase a V6 mustang as a daily driver so I can start building my 95 GT project.

yea and the gt-500 motor has forgedi-beam rods, what was ford thinking, especially with how tunable the 500 motor is, the 2003 cobra even had forged h-beams and it had over 100 less horsepower,..... i love ford but sometimes i think they are seriously lacking intelligence, no illuminated vanity mirrors in a 2007 mustang...mmmmk my 89 had it for crying out loud
