Oil leak - rear of intake?

On my '88 5.0 with 5-speed, 88,000 original miles - what are the common areas for an oil leak that is appearing at the top of the bellhousing? I replaced the valve cover gaskets, and the PCV screen and grommet. There is fresh oil that is on both sides of the bellhousing that seems to be dripping down from the vicinity of the top of the bellhousing.

Could there be a possible problem with the lower intake gasket at the rear of the block? If so, what's the best solution? My experience is with big block Chevy motors where the rear of the intake is typically sealed with a rubber gasket; the solution is to use silicon in place of the gasket.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

on the top of the bellhousing????

sounds like your lower intake is leaking. gives you an excuse to upgrade the intake. just use a bead of rtv instead of a gasket in the front and rear and youll be fine

It could be the intake gasket or valve covers. Both will leak on on top of the bell housing.
