Default throttle body, and heads?

I'm looking to get a throttle body, and heads and I'm wondering what is recommended to get. I have 1991 5.0L mustang GT.

What's your complete, current mod list.

BBK cold air intake
BBK Headers
High pressure fuel pump
Flowmaster
I am going to be getting a trick flow intake manifold when I get the throttle body, and heads.

Sorry, but I forgot to ask one more thing. What's your budget? That will make a difference as well.

No the budget isn't a real problem. I'm looking for street legal parts though. This is a street setup not an off road race set up.

Well different people seem to like different styles. I noticed that you're getting a TF intake manifold. many people like trickflow and tey get the complete top end kit. That includes the intake, a set of heads, and the camshaft as well as the bolts, gaskets, etc. It runs around $2,300 or so and should put you at or near 300 rwhp.

A lot of people also love the AFR 165s and AFR 185s but they also cost a bit more. Either way, if you're getting heads and an intake, you might as well grab a camshaft as well. A good custom grind is best, but again there are too many choices. And one isn't necessarily better than the other; what works for one person may not work for another because of other mods.

As far as the TB... I'd go for a nice 70mm TB and a 75MM MAF to go with it. Just make sure your MAF is bigger than your TB (as a general rule of thumb.) You'll also want to get larger injectors, a dyno tune. and a larger fuel pump.. i see you have a "high pressure" pump, but how many lph does it flow? is it intank or inline?

But anyway... if you don't want to worry about matching parts yourself then the easiest solution is to just buy the Trick Flow Top End Kit.

With the Trick Flow top end kit, and my current mods shouldn't that put me around 350rwhp? My current mods are flirting with 250 rwhp, to spend $2,000 just to get 50 more horsepower doesn't sound right, where the intake should be getting me 50 more according to someone I know who has the TF intake. You know the hp jump this kit will give me?

How did you obtain your HP for your curent setup? It's a nice start for mods, but all you have is a CAI and exhaust (not sure if you have an aftermarket midpipe or not, but even if you do....)

In stock form, you're looking at 190ish rwhp. It's unlikely that those mods would add 60 more rwhp. Most everyone I have seen with full exhaust and the TF kit were right around 285 - 295 rwhp.

The intake shouldn't give you that much of a gain either... not without making some other changes as well.

Before I used to have an off road h-pipe on, I had to take it off for emission laws that changed. I am planning of putting another h - pipe on it, with the off road h pipe, I was getting 250 to the wheels, So I'm guessing I am around 200 or 215 right now. When I get another h pipe on That should bring me back to 250.

I'm not trying to be a ***** in any way because you have a nice foundation there and you're looking to get some nicer mods. But there's no way those numbers are correct. I have a supercharger and nitrous and even I can't gain 35 - 50 rwhp from a midpipe.

With the CAI and full exhaust you were probably making 205 or so rwhp.... Unless I'm over-tired and missing something here. Anyone else out there wanna chime in?
