Video of my engine... what is this noise? Valve tap?
Any ideas are much appreciated... it started the day after I changed the oil and filter, I am thinking it is just a coincidence though.
Oh... and please watch more than 7 seconds... the starting footage was unintentional...ahem.
It's a 68 Mustang with a '91 Mustang engine. So far all I have done is taken the valve covers off and given it the old eye inspection... looked normal.

Thanks so much!

Lol... at least Captain Smushface was a hit...
The sounds does not seem to go away after any length of time... it 'might' get a little bit softer after a while, but that might just be me getting used to it.
What is the best way to attack a valve tap problem? Just start right off pulling heads and looking for worn lifters and such? Or is there a less time-consuming method?
Thanks for the replies!

k i dont think any body was actually paying attention... as far as how to tackle the loose rocker(s); i would try to listen to which side its coming from, take of the air cleaner since its carbed, and remove that valve cover. if you cant tell what side its comin from you can just as easily take off one of the covers and if thats not the one with a loose rocker you can just take off the other. its actually really easy if you've never done it

Pull the upper intake off, then both valve covers and check for loose rockers..There shouldnt be any play.

Sounds like a loose rocker to me too.. Do you have roller rockers or stamped?
