would this be usable for a 500 hp engine? i would be interetse din running a spool so no worries on that. but the 33 and 35 spline are the same price. is this a good price?

500hp isn't much. Stock junk will hold that. Just upgrade axles and throw in a spool if you want.

mosier axles with any detroit locker or auburn diff will hold 500 hp, i'd throw 3.73's in the rear if you want to continue driving daily w/o wasting more gas, if thats not an issue than you can go with 4.10s or higher. its a good idea to build this thing up because you can make all the power you want and try to lay it down on the pavement and throw your rearend out to shreds.

true to an extent, but not entirely.
i have a buddy at work with a mid-high 12 second stang, he's on his 3rd rear end.

i dont know the extent of his gearing or parts, but he's not too happy.

sometimes i think its luck, i have a friend who runs a 88 coupe 351 bored .60 trickflow heads victor jr intake demon carb etc., no suspension mods running 11.04 with 6,000rpm launches, on stock tranny and stock rearend and has had no failurein 2 years with these combo andgoes to track every weekend!!, i'm on my 4th tranny i haven't even touched 13s i think God has his finger over me! jajaja LOL[:@]
my advice its get a 87-93 8.8 stangrearend with ranger axels and drums for 5 lug or 94-98 8 cil rearend 6ers have 7.5 put explorer (yes explorers again ) carriers from 96-98 they have 31 splines with aftermarket axels (moser strange), that would hold thats what i´ll do for mine
