Default new 89 GT

well i just bought an 89 5.0 and im in love with it. here are the mods.

-engine rebuilt with arp rod bolts and pistons flycut. now has 30k miles on it. total miles on car, 80,000.
-ported edelbrock performer heads and gt-40 intake manifold.
-E-cam
-powerdyne supercharged.
-msd everything.
-tremec 3550 transmission.
-auburn gear rearend with 31 spline axles and 3:55 gears.
-full suspension modifications.
-6 point roll cage.
-all black with mach hood and weld wheels with skinnies up front.
-battery moved to the trunk
-traction bars.
the guy ran a best of 11.5 at 122 pulling the front wheels of the ground with slicks(has a picture in his garage).

i picked it up for $8500, what do you all think? its been sittin for the past 2 years except for him drivin it monthly to keep the engine up. any suggestions what i should do first, tune-up wise? besides cap, rotor, plugs/wires?

well i felt it was definitely a good buy considering the guy put over 20k into the car. i feel i saved alot of time and money considering how much i spent verse him. but anyways yea i was thinking fuel filter. and i will be changing the oil. he said he keeps synthetic in engine, tranny, and rear end. so that is a plus. this car drives like a dream and has sooooo much power it is insanely fast.k well thanks for the input. also the car is in excellent shape and has been garaged since day one. but ive never heard of a low mileage built 5.0 in show quality for less than 9 grand nor would i sell one for that low.[&:]

i might of talked him down a bit.... i mean it is around 16 years old, so all the rubber bushings and what not, that are stock, are going to be worn... and electrical is now 16 years old.. i think you will run into problems here and there that you will have to fix, but im sure its a fun ride... i would take it to they dyno asap, good to know how much hp you paid for

thats funny there is no electrical except for the msd and probly the engine wiring harness. everything else has been removed a/c, power steering etc. engine bay is clean of unnecesary junk . i did talk him down from $9000. i figure that the car will be a classic soon, not that it will do anything for value yet. but i just didnt want to take advantage of the guy, nor did he. but he had been trying to sell it for a while. plus hes giving me his weld rims with slicks too.

since when does a car with 80k miles on it have to replace the wiring? maybe a solenoid. but you take that risk with any elderly 5.0 you buy. i didnt see the brake light eventually going out, as a reason to pass up the car. i meant any electrical that may cost me alot of $$$ down the long road. i kinda see what you are saying about it being older and all, but seriously he spends $20,000+, I spend $8500 and i am getting ripped off? i just dont see where. if you spent that much dont you think you would want at least that?
