351 heads

RE: 351 heads
i am, i run C90E 351w heads which are the same as the D0OE. they are similar in flow and performance to the GT-40 heads. same size intake runners, same size valves. 60cc chambers IIRC. what you need to do to make them streetable is get hard ex. seats installed if they arent installed from the previous owner, and take a dremel tool to the bumps in the exhaust ports, you can completely grind them away - there is plenty of meat there.
alot of people will tell you that gt40 heads still choke a 302, but i can attest to my 302 zinging up to 7k with a quickness and wanting to run alot higher than that if i would have let it.

port the intake and exhaust 1/8th an inch, have a machine shop mill the heads .020, and install 1.7rollers, or a cam not exceeding a .530 lift, get some shorty headers or long tubes. Good for 45 hp.

RE: 351 heads
Im running the 70dooe heads mine are milled down to 57cc chambers, ported, enlarged bowls, and have chevy 1.94/1.6 valve's put in them. I have a x cam with .542 lift andit works good with the heads. Stock these heads are about the same as gt40's but if you put some money into them you can get good results and make just as much power as alot of aluminum heads.
