RE: GT-40 cast iron heads on 347 HELP!!
You don't need AFR 205 heads to make a 347 produce a crapload of power, unless you plan on turning 7,000rpm or more, it'd run a lot better on the street with AFR 185's and produce nearly the same peak power, againunless you want to make power over 7,000rpm

RE: GT-40 cast iron heads on 347 HELP!!
Hey buddy I soldthose heads to your little brother and then some fool takes out his Mustang in a wreak. You inherited the heads but that's when you were just looking to put them on a 306 in block. They served me well but in your application of a 331-347 they will not cut it. Now go out and call Woody order you a motor and get you some AFR's 185 and call it a day. Oh yeah get a good intake and headers and you will be good to go. How in the heck do you expect to spend $7k under the hood and put GT-40's on it. Your horsepower expectations are low if you are going to with a stroker and perhaps a power adder. Hey come to think of it that's my old 86 that I sold you back in the day. We never did the title work...go head and fix er up. I will call and ask for a replacement title and cops at the same time. When I get the 92 going again we will need to line them up. Get better heads than the GT-40's
