Default RE: Question about Mods

If I am running a low 15.2 (could improve) if I did pulleys, and a short belt, what do you think I could run?

pulleys and a short belt would get you into the 14.90's for sure if not a bit quicker.

I've heard it's best when getting U/D pulleys, to not touch the alt pulley...but what do I know?

Depends, sometimes the pulley is too small and your battery wont charge. From what i've read, March pretty much eliminated that problem so as long as you dont have some subs in the back and a reallly loud sound system, you should be ok. On my car when at idle the needle on the battery gauge is a little low, but once its above 1K its fine. Havn't had any problems with charging. I went with March......
Also i've heard that the alt pulley is a pain, so the night before I sprayed the hell out of it with some liquid wrench and used an impact gun, it came right off in no time.....

ROUNDMAN-
Wow, really, it is that big of a difference huh... So I am getting my 4.10's put in next monday, If I order some pulley's and pick up a short belt, do you think I could run a 14.5 on street tires? I know it is hard to say, but with my stock gears if I am running a 14.9 I hear that Gears can drop you 1/2 a second or more, so I think a 14.5 would be about right seeing how I will probably have excessive tire spin with the 4.10's which really isn't a problem with my stock 3.08's. I guess we'll see!
