The summit headers you speak of are not BBK's.

Their flanges are not the same thickness, nor the same quality. They are much closer to a flowtech header, which I believe they are.

Cheap headers make me nervous, especially in a car with a tight engine bay where install is a major hassle. The welds are usually shoddy, the flanges thin and brittle, etc. Also, the painted headers will flake after the FIRST use. They will rust in the first year.

If you do get them, I reccomend you buy some better quality gaskets and locking header bolts to go with them. But hey, by the time you spend the next $50 for that, you may as well spend another $50 and get a higher quality header to go with it.

Your call.

Me? I'm getting the POS $99 Summit longtubes b/c I drive a truck

was this post a joke? have you even seen the headers? i'll take a picture for you. the flange is between 1/8 to a 1/4 inch thick. and its a solid flang anyways so the tubes aren't going to move. you may like to throw your money away at pricey items but personally, i choose to pick up a deal when i can. ceramics for 250 shipped. cant beat that and no they wont rust (i know you specified painted). i know space is tight but my slipped in for a 20 minute removal and install of new headers.

**edit** i called and ask my friend, hes pretty sure its 1/8 thick flang on the header, i'll measure when i get home
