Headliner replacement

RE: Headliner replacement
i did my own in black, came out really nice. to take it out, remove all moulding around the head lines, it'll slip out really easy. you wont mess it up. are you buying a new headliner or are you wanting to re-do your current one?

RE: Headliner replacement
I want to do it myself with something other than that cheap thin vinyl that's there now. I don't like leaving my car at shops ifI don't have to. I always feel like someone is out runing the crap out of it.

what you do is take down all the moulding. remove headlines. inspect the asb board, make sure its still in good shape, if it is. buy some material that you like that can also accept fabric adhesive(its nicer if the material has a little stretchability to it)
start on one end spraying alot of adhesive on the asb board and just take it from corner working across in a diagonal while smoothing all the way side to side working it in all the corners and grooves until you get to the other end. let sit and dry....reinstall. replace sound deading material in car if its no good, i know mine was junk, i replaced with carpet padding(same thing car companies use)
