Default Power Steering

I have a 1983 5.0 and Im having problems with my power steering. The belt used to fly off within a few minutes of starting it up. I replaced the alternator, then the belt tesioner, hoping one of those was whats wrong. I then realized my power steering pump bracket was cracked. After searching foreveronline I found one and bought it. I put it on hoping that would fix it. When you look at the pully, it looks like it is tweaked slightly, so the belt comes off it at a slightly wrong angle, and rides over the lip of another pulley and works itself off. Im wondering if the stud that it bolts to coming off the head is bent slightly from when the bracket was cracked, putting too much pressure on it.

Im wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and has a solution. I was considering getting rid of power steering alltogether because Im so sick of dealing with the whole issue, but Im looking tio sell it and I think it would sell easier if it had PS, so thats my final option.

Does anyone have an idea of what it might be?

Just shim it up with some washers and file on it until its perfect... Costs $2 at the hardware and your time...

If the pulley is screwed, get a new one...

I was looking to get around 3K. Its got a mildly built 5.0 in it with around 100 miles, Its only been driven around town a couple times, then I started having the problems with the belt. I never drive it (Ive got a jeep too) and Im in college, so its useless having it out front sitting, because someone who would actually drive it would have it, and I could really use the money.

Im gonna lay off the project cars until Im out of college when I can actually afford it without going paycheck to paycheck. I want to buy a notch then and drop a nasty stroked 351 in it.

The pulley can go in or out with a pulley puller/installer. It might be off centered with your other pullies
