Default having trouble firing motor

i just rebuilt my motor and im having trouble firing it i sound like it wants to turn over but i keep bending push rods can ne body help me

are you using hardened pushrods? correct length?

what consists of the rebuild that you did?

umm....

"it sounds like it wants to turn over but it keeps bending push rods"

sounds to me like pistons are hitting valves and the pushrods are taking the fall. probably have bent valves too if this is whats happening. what head/piston/cam combination do you have?

i havethe valves arnt hitting the pistons I had to get new pistons for ttat reasoni have speed pro piston that clear the valves im not using hardened push rods im using stock length push rods im not sure if they are the right size but i dont know what size i should go with

even if they arent harded they shouldnt be bending. the hardening just keeps them from getting chewed up while rubbing against the guideplates. sure, they are stronger - but something is happening for you to be bending them. did you screw up installing your timing chain and have your cam opening at the wrong time?

my heads are canfield 192 cc heads they flow 283 at .600 lift my cam has a lift of only .512

i checked the timing chain i set the number one clinder to top dead center and set the timing chain perfect

top dead center on the exhaust or compression stroke....
