Default overheating

hey my 84 gt is overheating and I cant figure why. daily driving its fine up to 2700rpm but if I wonna hit and go 4-5k rpm it overheats really fast. like in less than a minute the needle redlines. I drained the coolant and put a strong mixture in 65/35 and I am using good full sny oil and there are no leaks anywhere.

HELP !?!?!?!?[:@][:@]

thanks

Are you constantly having to add coolant or top off the radiator? notice any white smoke out the tailpipe? Could have a head gasket that's going bad. You could do a compression test or leak down test and see what that yields. It would pin-point the cylinder(s) that are having the issue if that's it.

Sounds like the car is pre-det! If you have no leaks and it only does it when you get on it! Check your timing, check all the plugs to make sure they are gapped correctly. What kind of fuel are you using? Reg or premium? Check fuel pressure! Could be a fuel pump going bad. But I would start with the fuel and timing. Could also be a plugged fuel filter!
