The wire i have says AGW 4... so im guessing thats 4 guage? It was used for a 1650 watt amplifier.

Go to a welding supply shop and ask for '00' gauge cable. It'll be inexpensive and work real fine......

buy a 3/8" all thread rod, a metal strap and some nutsfrom home depot.cut the rod to length and use the nuts to secure it. some large washers would be a good idea too
