Default HELP!!! Anyone with a E303 & ped mount RR's

I have a knocking/rattle noise coming from my valve train. The eng was rebuilt about 3 years ago & the noise has been there since. I have an E303 & FMS 1.6 RR's with stock heads. My eng builder said that the shims for the RR's needed to be replaced with thinner one's. So I had a mechanic swap the shims out for me & it helped a little but didn't get rid off it completly. He & my eng builder said that it was normal for that noise to be heard. I called a Tech at ford racing & he also said that I will have that knocking noise with the cam & RR's I have. Does this sound right?????

I'm working on a SC SN95 with the FMS pedestal mounted rockers and the E303......no noise from them.....just make sure you go over the PRs length, make sure the geometry is correct, and you shouldn't have any more noise.....other than having a set of faulty lifters, or clearance problems with the valve covers.

The SN95 I mentioned uses either 5w30 or 10w30.....go over the geometry/PR length setting procedure and do it right.... my 2ยข.

thats just a band aid. all your doing is fixing the simptoms and not the problem

I agree, I want to fix the problem not just put a band aid on it.
