Installed a 1" intake spacer ? Improvement?
I installed a 1' intake spacer to allow my new valve covers to clear and everybody was saying that I would gain alittle my torque and h/p but actually it feels like I lost some torque and bottom end,but gained alittle more top end? What's the deal with this set up, anybody else do this and what's there take on the subject?I kind of miss the more Torque it had.........

i did the same thing with my last setup. needed the large spacer to clear valve covers. had penty of torque and since the motor was new, i dont have a way to compare it before because i assembled right off the bat with the spacer on it. i can say this though, i could bare hand my upper intake manifold right after a run.....the sc on the other hand wasnt so cool[:@]

If I'm not mistaken, the spacer helps to block heat transfer from the lower to upper intake. I know most high performance carbed motors use on for that reason, and to control vapor lock. I guess, depending on the size of the spacer, it could put a little more power in the upper end, but I don't think you would be able to notice it, imo.

Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks or timing issues or anything. Longer runners should give you more low end torque. Not sure if it's enough to feel off the line, but the dyno should show it. You should have more HP and TQ from it.
