Yeah, but with enough patience anything is possible, I have done 50 or more coolant flushes the same way and never had a single problem with over heating or air being in the system.

*edit* Besides, this way he can find out if the fan clutch is working and find out if there are any cold spots in the radiator, or if his upper or lower radiator hoses are hot like they are suppose to be.

Make sure you dont have any airflow interruptions with your radiator. You may have a bunch of leaves or dirt or somethin in front of your radiator. Clean your radiator off with a hose anyway, just in case....
