I got my lower intake on( it was giving me problems) and now all i need to do before dropping in the motor is put on my clutch setup.
How long do you guys think it will take me to put on my clutch and drop the motor in and attach transmission? its just me with some help for the motor drop coming from my friend.

It will be quicker and easier to put the clutch and trans on before dropping the motor in. That will save you the laying on your back putting in the tranny time. It shouldn't take real long to drop it in tho, the time will be in putting everything elce back together.

Shelty, your motor is already in! You don't have to take it back out. What all did you hook up? I thought you already put a bunch of stuff back together.
Chrizzle, Your motor is out, put your clutch and tranny on before you drop it in. There isn't a whole lot of tricks to make it quicker. If you marked everything as to where it belongs, it should be a brease! If you didn't mark things it will take a little longer, but wires and hoses will usually locate themselves once you lay them in there. They tend to take the shape of where they belong after all the years of being in there. Plus, wires usually only plug in one way, the connectorswill only plug intoits matching end.

thanks for the advice....i woulda thought it would be hard to squeeze the tranny and motor back through as one, but if you guys say its the easiest way i will probably attempt it...it sure would be a great timesaver

It would be easier if you have a load leveler on you engine hoist. That allows you to pitch the tranny end down to get it in the engine bay and as you lower it you level it out by cranking on the leveler.

RE: finally gettin ready to drop in new motor
best way is put the clutch and flywheel and bellhousing on and set the motor it'll drop straight down = easy no wiggling or hard line up then crawl underneath..... slide the tranny into the bellhousing then install crossmember and start hooking everything back up......when I remove a motor I always remove the tranny, as It's easier to push the tranny into the bellhousing then try and push/line the motor up with the tranny.
