as the title says my e brake light wont turn off even though the e brake is not on is this just a wiring issue or what?

As long as you aren't leakingbrake fluid drive it like you stole it....

Make sure the master cylinder is full and check to see if the sensor in the reservoir is working correctly. Unplug it and see if the light goes out.

You may have a bad switch on the e-brake or it may not be making contact to shut it off.

Either the e-brake light switch is broken/shorted to ground =pull up your console and test it with a ohmmeter in the off position the switch should be open and or the float in the master cylinder is stuck at the bottom of the plastic resevoir
