getting paid, time to order some stuff
I get paid from from both jobs on friday, so I was gonna order some parts this weekend for the stang.
the main part I am looking for is a carb, I want a Holley, cuz where ever I looked, they are the cheapest around, plus Holley makes good stuff. I just want to know the right sizing for the car, cuz I heard Over-carbing an engine is bad and undercarbing is worse....
my motor is an internally stock '87 5.0 HO with stock E7 heads, it has an Edelbrock Performer 289 intake, no A/C, no Smog, and It will have a 2.5 inch exhaust, with a catless H-pipe.
would I be good with a Holley 600 CFM carb? Advance is selling one "universal" or would a 650 be a better choice? I think an 750 would be over kill.
also, I should be looking for one with an electric choke and a double pumper?
thanks

a member a few weeks ago mentioned that carb, so I may give those guys a call

I dont think you need a double pumper but see what everyone else says.Myfriends probe went 9.37 in the 1/4 mile with a 2 barrel. Try looking on ebay you might be able to get a real good deal on one.

Mechanical Sec are double pumpers.
Vac Sec are not double pumpers.
Holley makes both. Go to their site and they have a calculater to tell you what size and type you need for your application.

600 cfm will be fine a 650 is way to much for your stock aplication...I have a 85 gt engine in my 92... thebottom end is stock except for the f-cam and ported e7te heads roller rockers and performer 289 intake and I have a edelbrock 600 cfm on it and it works wonderful!!! no hesitations and throttle response is good too!!
